Policy Status : Suggested
That the Govt revisit Baby Sitting to Lower the age which parents can leave children at home on their own or to supervise within reason, other child

The law relating to leaving Children below the age of 14 years old, at home without parental supervision, was put into place years ago, and needs to be reviewed and revised.

Kids are smarter in many ways than when this rule was introduced.

When this rule was introduced, there was no access to mobile phones, nor to a whole bunch of other tools which enable a closer relationship with people who are removed by distance from those who care.

Naturally, if someone is stupid and does not take into consideration the larger picture, from an adult perspective then they will be held accountable for that lack in judgment, and potentially fined or worse
