Policy Status : Actual
By mitija.
Set a minimum number of metres, between Bus Stops, at 500 metres

At the moment, the average number of metres between bus stops in Auckland, is 110 metres, that means, that in a 20km journey, there can be as many as 180 bus stops

This is a huge contributing factor in making the Public Transport System inefficient,  and rather forcing clients to stick to using their cars.

Therefore, the idea, is to have bus stops organised so that they straddle where appropriate, traffic light intersections, so that passengers gettting off, the driver has an option of driving through the light, and dropping off on the other side of the intersection, where the light is green, or dropping off on the near side, if the light is red (only in the case, where there are no passengers to pick up)

If it is more cost effective to travel at certain time then this could attract elderly to travel at times suitable to cost of transport
